OUCH

Yesterday, Eloise had her two month checkup with Dr. Broadbent. Can you believe that she is already two months old? I'm still in shock!! The high point of the appointment was getting to see how much Eloise has grown since we were there a month and a half ago. She is now 9 pounds and 13 ounces, which puts here in the 25th percentile for weight. They measured her at 22 1/2 inches, so she is in the 52nd percentile for height. That's a big accomplishment for my family, considering that most of us never even made the charts for height. I guess she takes after her Daddy in that category too. She loved when Dr. Broadbent was examining her. He must have found some ticklish spots because she was cracking up the entire time. I have to say, it was pretty dang cute. Zach had to work, so my sweet Mom volunteered to come to the appointment with us, and hold my hand while Eloise got her shots. Which brings us to the low point of the checkup...the shots!! I think that I was more nervous for poor Eloise to get her shots than I was to give birth to her. She was her usual happy self up until the first shot, and was a wreck until the other two were finished. Yep, the poor baby had to get three shots in both of her legs. It broke her heart, but I think it broke mine just as much. It took her a while to calm down, but once she did she was as happy as can be. She's a trooper, that girl of mine!!

I'm Doing OK

So I have to admit...this video made me cry. Yep, it sure did. If you know me, you know that this occurs very rarely. I mean the birth of my baby girl only got a few tears out of me. I promise I don't have a stone cold heart!! Let's just pretend for a minute that this is little Miss Eloise talking...It's exactly what this new mama needed to hear.

Z

I love this man...
Words can't express how much he means to me.
He is my partner in crime. My best friend.

He is the greatest Daddy in the whole wide world.
I can't tell you why, but nothing is more attractive
than seeing him with our baby girl.
A beautiful baby girl that looks just like her Daddy.
The light hair and beautiful blue eyes.
He loves her with all of his heart...and it melts mine.

OOPS

Is it kind of obvious that I haven't cooked in a while?...
Yep, that's just the garlic bread that I COMPLETELY burned a few nights ago.
I mean come on, who burns probably the easiest thing to make? ME.
I think Zach was mortified when he saw what I did.
The smoke alarm went off 4 times.
I'm sure our neighbors thought our house was burning down.

When I was first pregnant I was SICK...
Everyone kept telling me that it would go away by the second trimester.
During that time cooking was the LAST thing on my mind.
Well, that terrible sickness lasted the ENTIRE 9 months.
I was sick pretty much up until I delivered. Trust me, it wasn't fun!!
So needless to say, I think I cooked a total of 5 times when I was preggo.
Poor Zachary!!

Now that I am feeling SO much better, I decided that I need to step it up.
Cooking for me and my husband has got to be a priority.
I LOVE to cook, I am just a little rusty at the moment.
Now that I'm lucky enough to be a stay at home mom,
(is that weird to anyone else?)
I have the time.
Starting now...

The Growing Belly

When I found out that I was pregnant, I decided to take a little
blogging hiatus...I spent that time focusing on school, work,
and oh yeah, growing a BABY!!

Can you even believe how BIG I got?!
Well, now that little Eloise is here safe and sound, I'm back to blogging.
It's good to be back!!

49ers

Today the San Francisco 49ers play in the NFC Championship game. Let's just say Zach hasn't been this excited for a football game in a long time! Hopefully they win and we will get to watch them play in a couple of weeks in the
SUPER BOWL!

Introducing Eloise

On December 26, 2011 we welcomed our first child, Eloise Madeline. She was five days late, but so worth the wait. We are loving being parents and feel so blessed to have such a happy and healthy baby. She has brought so much joy into our lives over the past 3 weeks.
We went to get her newborn pictures done and here is a sneak peak of the great pictures that were taken. http://photosbyaprillupus.blogspot.com/

We are grateful for those of you who have helped us in welcoming this new addition to our family.
