It's OK

Some photos from this week.

It's OK that my clothes are still snug in places, and that my stomach is no longer flat. It reminds me that my body stretched and grew in order to make room for my baby girl to grow and develop. It gave her the nourishment that she needed, so that she could come into this world safe and sound.

It's OK that some days the bed stays unmade and dirty dishes are stacked up in the sink. It means I'm off spending time with my baby girl and loving husband. Making memories.

It's OK that I want to move more than anything. Somewhere far away and exciting. The hubby wants it too. Everybody itches for a change at some point in their lives, right?

It's OK that some weeks I get to shower just a few times. Oh how I cherish those showers, and miss the days when I had hours on end to pamper myself. It reminds me that I'm a new mother, trying to figure this whole thing out. Some days, showers are the least of my worries.

It's OK that our future is up in the air, with nothing really set in stone. For some reason, it feels right. I've always been one for adventures, and the unknown seems exciting to me in its own little way. We are enjoying this time in our lives, because it only happens once.

Our Date With The Doctor

Yesterday was Eloise's four month well baby check-up. Going to the doctor is always quite the event for us, seeing as how this poor baby girl has gotten shots the past two times. She is as happy as can be, and very social with the doctor and nurses,  until the shots come around. Then, she is completely heart broken. I definitely don't blame her though. I am happy to say that everything is perfect with Miss Eloise's health...she is a healthy, happy baby girl. She now weighs 12 lbs. 15 oz. and is 25 inches long. I was completely shocked to find out that she has grown three inches in the past two months. She definitely takes after her Daddy's side, since my poor family has a problem in the height department. Our doctor, who we love so much, gave us the OK to introduce Eloise to some solids, which I'm guessing she will love. I just can't believe that at our next appointment she will be six months old. I'm kind of hyperventilating over the fact that she is growing up SO dang fast!

Here are some pictures of our little adventure to the doctor's office.

See...Like I said earlier, completely heartbroken over the shots. After we both calmed down a bit, we headed out to the car, where Eloise took a nice long nap, which she deserved. I took the opportunity to treat myself to a delicious frozen treat. I needed to forget this traumatic experience too.
