Suggestions Please

NYC- December 2007
Yes, we look like BABIES.

Zach, Eloise and I are heading out on our very first family of three trip in early May. That's right, we are taking Miss E on her first East Coast adventure. We are visiting Washington DC, and NYC for a week and couldn't be more excited. I'm going a little giddy planning this trip, and all of the fun things we are going to do. The hubby has never been to DC, so this will be a first for him. We are planning on touring all of the monuments and museums, and brushing up a bit on our U.S. history. New York is a special place for us. It's where I like to say our family truly started. Zach and I got engaged in Central Park in 2007...pretty romantic huh? We have done all of the major touristy things in New York (multiple times for me), and want more of a laid back experience this time. I would absolutely LOVE suggestions from all of you. What should we plan on doing and seeing while in Washington DC and New York City? What are some of your most favorite spots in these cities, that are a must for us on our trip? Ready, go...

When I was in NYC I went to Lincoln Jazz centre and it was amazing! Definetly recommend that!
The local pizza shops are also pretty delicious :)

NYC has great stuff for kids. Check out the blog Mommy Poppins for some kid friendly ideas.

I also like Chelsea Market & The Highline Park if the weather is nice.

Lombardi's in SoHo is our favorite pizza. Shopping in SoHo is fun even just for the people watching.

Shake Shack in Madison Square Park is a fun place to eat outside.

Have fun!

One of my favorite things to do in NYC is walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and eat pizza at Grimaldi's in Brooklyn. Also, Chelsea Market is really neat. I've never been, but I've heard High Line Park is cool and that's right by Chelsea Market. Also, I have a soft spot for Magnolia Bakery's banana pudding. (their cupcakes aren't bad either).

Have fun!!!

SO fun!! For DC, definitely check out these spots:

Capitol Hill, check out Eastern Market on a Sunday! Get a burger and toasted marshmallow shake at Good Stuff Eatery.

Georgetown: Sprinkles Cupcakes and Baked and Wired both have AHMAZING cupcakes. Georgetown cupcake is the tourist attraction but Sprinkles and Baked and Wired are where it's at (in my humble opinion:) Fun shopping also to be had in Georgetown. Founding Farmers is a fantastic restaurant near Georgetown as well.

Definitely stroll on the mall, if you can try the museums and monuments during the day during the week, there are always a lot of people but it's much less crowded during the week.
